Christmas Message: “The Gift of Holiness.”- December 17, 2023

Dear Beloved Supreme Gospel Church Family,

Introduction:
Today, we come together to reflect on the profound theme of Christmas: “The Gift of Holiness.” Let us delve into the Scriptures and be reminded of the true essence of this season and the extraordinary gift bestowed upon us.

I. The Gift of Life (Romans 6:23):
Our journey begins with the words of Apostle Paul in Romans 6:23, emphasizing the gift of life through Christ. Christmas is more than a historical celebration; it is a celebration of life. God, in His infinite mercy, sent His Son to rescue us from sin’s consequences. The gift of holiness commences with the gift of life through Christ.

II. The Gift of Love (John 3:16):
Continuing our reflection, we turn to the Gospel of John 3:16, acknowledging that the heart of Christmas is love. God’s immeasurable love is expressed through the birth of Jesus—the ultimate gift. The gift of holiness is inseparable from God’s boundless love, transforming our lives beyond our understanding.

III. The Gift of Good News (Luke 2:10-11):
In Luke 2:10-11, the angel proclaimed to the shepherds, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy…” The birth of Jesus brings good news—salvation and reconciliation with God. Through this gift, holiness becomes accessible to us. The Savior’s arrival marks a new era, allowing humanity to experience the transformative power of holiness.

IV. Embracing Holiness (Additional Verses):
a. 1 Peter 1:16 – “Be holy, for I am holy.” As recipients of God’s gift, we are called to reflect His holiness in our lives.
b. Colossians 3:12 – “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved…” Holiness is not just a received gift; it is a way of living, characterized by virtues mirroring the nature of Christ.

Conclusion:
Dear brothers and sisters, let’s cherish and celebrate the gift of holiness this Christmas season. Through the life, love, and good news found in Christ, we are offered a divine transformation leading us to a path of holiness. As we exchange gifts with loved ones, let’s remember the ultimate gift—the gift of holiness through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. May this Christmas be a time of deep reflection and gratitude for the extraordinary gift shaping our lives. Amen.

In His Love and Grace,

Rev. Elikplim Sallah and the Supreme Gospel Church Family
